This event is brought to you in partnership with Sharp’s Brewery, based in Rock, Cornwall, the legendary brewer behind their famous Doom Bar, the UK’s No.1 cask ale.
This is a great way to experience corporate hospitality with a personal touch. As well as being hosted by a leading presenter, this event features Sharp’s leading beer sommelier Ed Hughes, whose passion for beer flows in part from his experience of Belgium’s proud beer culture.
He is a firm believer that beer can be a genuine alternative to wine in terms of its richness of variety and ability to be paired with foods. He is a regular on the BBC’s Saturday Kitchen, and co-author of cookbook Just Add Beer, an intriguing beer and food matching cookbook produced by Sharps’ Brewery.
Your guests will be joined by your chosen footballing legend from the list below, to provide their own opinion of the beers on offer, and regale your guests with anecdotes from their colourful lives and careers.
Ally McCoist
Ally is a living legend, the prolific Rangers striker is ranked the 5 highest goal scorer in the Scottish football league system. He went on to lead a prestigious career as manager and sporting pundit for ITV and Talksport as well as making regular appearances on A Question of Sport for nearly a decade.
Alan Brazil
Alan Brazil is a truly larger than life personality, having played football for Ipswitch, Tottenham, Manchester United and Scotland, and travelling the world as a broadcaster gaining a legion of devoted fans during his time as a host of Talsport’s Breakfast Show. He’s written a series of popular books based on his life, including the uproarious tales contained in There’s An Awful Lot of Bubbly In Brazil.
Ray Parlour
Dubbed the Romford Pele, Ray Parlour has long been a colourful charter in English football. He made 339 appearances as an Arsenal midfielder spanning a 12 year career, in which he won three league titles, four FA cups, and bagged 10 England caps. He is a regular pundit on Talksport radio and a much-in-demand after dinner speaker.
Lee Sharpe
Despite a football career cut short due to injuries Lee Sharpe clocked up 193 appearances for Manchester United and 8 England appearances, winning three league titles, two FA Cups and a European Cup Winners Cup. His post-game career has seen him become quite the reality TV star, appearing on Celebrity Love Island, Dancing on Ice and even Celebrity Wrestling. This popular speaker is a consummate entertainer and tells a cracking tale or three.
