“Growth comes out of pain.”
“Adversity breads Character.”
Edison failed over 2,000 times before making the lightbulb, Branson-14 failed companies, Trump-8 failed (including travel search engine “GoTrump.com”-I could have told him that one stank!).
Me, I came dead last in the Anglesey half-marathon, managed a football team to relegation last season and my quitting smoking lasted 14 months.
However, I now understand first-hand the joy and comradeship of marathons and will definitely be doing better next year.
I also now appreciate the effort and levels of human understanding needed when managing a large group of hungover men.
And I have now accepted that I enjoy too much the suckling of the evil dark weed when partaking of an alcoholic beverage (although I have tapered my intake of both).
I believe personal experience and adaptation are what life is all about and make’s life exciting.
I believe man is happiest when growing and developing and this doesn’t happen when you play it safe and continue to do what you’ve always done the way you’ve always done it.
So the England rugby team have set a record for the only host team EVER to go out of their own World Cup. That’s got to mean something?
The brilliant news is that they’ll be forced to adapt, forced to change, forced to do things differently.
It certainly makes things very, very interesting for the Six Nations.
