TEMPLE ISLAND at The HENLEY ROYAL REGATTA
Temple Island is a small, historic island on the River Thames that marks the official start of the Henley Royal Regatta course. It is one of the Regatta’s most recognisable landmarks, thanks to its striking 18th-century temple (or folly), from which the island takes its name.
The island sits at the upstream end of the 2,112-metre (1 mile, 550 yards) racing course, with crews beginning their races just downstream of Temple Island before rowing towards the Finish Line.
For visitors attending the Regatta, Temple Island is also the name given to one of the event’s premium hospitality experiences. Located close to the start of the course, Temple Island Hospitality offers guests an elegant riverside setting with excellent views of the opening stages of the racing.

The Boaters Enclosure at the Henley Royal Regatta is one of the Regatta’s official riverside enclosures. It is separate from general admission and also separate from hospitality packages.
The Boater Enclosure offers one of the best ways to experience the excitement of the Henley Royal Regatta, combining a relaxed riverside atmosphere with superb views of the racing. Situated on the prestigious Stewards’ side of the course, close to the Finish Line, the enclosure provides an excellent vantage point to watch world-class rowing while enjoying premium facilities.

To avoid guests having to walk up the tow path from Henley Town Centre to the facility, we can offer a return River Taxi to / from Henley town to the start line which is located a few minutes’ walk from our Riverside Enclosure. This can be added to the above package on the request and at the additional costs;
Provisional boat timings:
Depart Henley town centre : 10.10am – arrive to start line: 10.45am
Depart Start line – 6.20pm – arrive Henley town centre: 6.55pm
Note that the river taxi is limited to just 40 guests per day and subject to availability so must be checked at time of booking.
